About Teakwood Cafe

Let me introduce you to Teakwood Cafe, a relaxed cafe-style spot tucked along Tweed Valley Way that locals love for its easygoing energy and thoughtful food. Located at 6184 Tweed Valley Way, Burringbar NSW 2483, Australia, this place feels like the kind of cafe you discover once and then keep coming back, whether you’re passing through or live nearby. The vibe is casual and welcoming, with outdoor seating that invites you to slow down, sip your coffee, and actually enjoy the moment. From the first visit, it’s clear that Teakwood Cafe is built around comfort and simplicity, yet it still delivers plenty of flavor and choice. Coffee is a standout here, made for people who appreciate a good cup without the fuss, and it pairs easily with a quick bite or a few small plates when you’re not in the mood for a full sit-down meal. At the same time, the menu leans into healthy options, so it works just as well for a light brunch as it does for a relaxed lunch. Vegan and vegetarian options are part of the mix, which makes it easy to come with friends who all want something different and still leave happy. Service options are flexible too, because you can dine in, grab takeaway on the go, or take advantage of delivery when staying put feels better. On-site service keeps things smooth and friendly, and there’s a noticeable effort to make everyone feel looked after without hovering, which suits the laid-back cafe setting. In day-to-day terms, Teakwood Cafe fits neatly into the rhythm of Burringbar life, working just as well for early coffee runs as it does for slow afternoons with friends. It’s the kind of place where conversations flow easily, plates are meant to be shared, and the atmosphere stays calm even when it’s busy.

I cannot recommend the Teakwood Cafe more! Their service was incomparable. I have never experienced a cafe as accomodating as this one for allergies. From the second we sat down, we were asked about dietary requirements and these were taken seriously every step of the way. They carefully went through every single item on the menu, disclosing the presence of allergens and offering accomodations. It was astonishingly clear that they prioritise meeting dietary needs, keeping nut products away from other ingredients and taking close care and consideration in meal preparation. This is the most at ease I have ever felt eating at a cafe as someone with a severe allergy!! The food was perfect and delicious, and the drinks were incredible. I will certainly visit the Teakwood Cafe again!!

DELIGHTFUL We stumbled on this place going for a scenic drive and decided to stop in for some breakfast. The food was beautiful and delicious. I had one of the best coffees of my life, the spritzer was an unexpected mix of flavours that I won’t soon forget. The staff were lovely and the food was quick!

Recommended by a staff member at Pipit (a fine dining restaurant in Pottsville). Teakwood ended up being one of the best cafes we went to in Tweed. A good balance of classics with some more unique options. Really lovely staff and a warm atmosphere. The corn fritters were a favourite. The rosti with salmon wasn’t bad, but would’ve liked the rosti crispier. The apple and almond cake was delicious as well. I wish I got the blueberry cake! Would visit again.

One of my most favourite cafes in the Northern Rivers, an absolute must see! Not only is the journey beautiful so is the destination. I love a family run business and the most beautiful family run this cafe, Dad’s in the kitchen and what an amazing chef he is Mum is running the show And their daughter’s are amazing barristers. I’m really big on good old-fashioned service and fresh local ingredients. this place ticks all the boxes. The potato omelette with peanut sauce was the best omelette I’ve ever had in my life. Thank you, Teakwood for providing beautiful service and amazing, fresh, local food

New coffee is delicious! I take ages to leave reviews because so many time I've lavishly praised places to then be disappointed later in. Not here! 2 years I've been impressed. Between my family and I we've eaten and drank through every menu change. Not once have any of us been disappointed. Can't wait for next week when the breaky/lunch menu drops

WOW! What a find this place is. The food was delicious with incredibly quick service. The owner specifically came out with a toy for my son to keep him occupied so we could eat our food. The pricing is expected for the area but the serving sizes made it well worth the price, very generous proportions. Even the fresh bread was memorable. The cakes and baked goods also look incredible. Kid & dog friendly too.
